Welcome To Our Toddler Program!

Toddlers are active learners who are interested in the world around them. Our toddlers are encouraged to explore! At Linden Hills Child Care we believe that at the toddler age, children are learning the basics of socialization. We provide a daily schedule that promotes fun and exploration. The toddlers are separated into groups throughout the day for a smaller class experience. We maintain a 1 teacher to 7 toddler ratio with a class size no larger than 14. Individualized reports with information regarding meals and snacks, naps and activities are given to families at the end of each day. 

Our toddler program seeks: 
  • To begin an understanding of what their young minds will need to know as they grow; about themselves and the world around them.
  • To provide a loving, caring atmosphere where toddlers can play, individually and as a group, and learn how to share and listen as a group.
  • To encourage communication skills and develop clear speech through individual participation at group times.
  • To discover new environments and tools through manipulation and exploring.
  • To coordinate body movements and senses while playing and learning in a physical environment.
Activities to encourage development:
  • Gross motor includes sliding, climbing, ball play, games, dancing, outside play daily weather permitting.
  • Fine motor includes coloring, pasting, using chalk, using easel, playing with blocks and puzzles, turning pages of books, playing with puppets, sensory play.
  • Intellectual includes story time, singing songs, puzzles, matching cards, arts and crafts, naming pictures
  • Social includes circle time, group games, arts and crafts activities, wagon rides, and quiet activity time
  • Emotional includes dressing dolls, toilet training, selecting colors and shapes to use at play, creating colorful pictures for the walls and to take home.
