Our preschool program seeks:
  • To provide experiences that meets each child's needs and stimulate learning in all developmental areas.  These are physical, social, emotional and intellectual.
  • To view each child as a unique person with an individual pattern and timing of growth and development.
  • To design interactions and activities to develop each child's self-esteem and positive feelings toward learning.
  • To become enthusiastic learners.
  • To foster independence.
  • To implement curriculum necessary for kindergarten readiness.

Welcome To Our Preschool Program

Our preschool program is fun, safe and inviting. We have many teacher-directed activities along with independent free play directed by the preschoolers themselves. We offer small preschool classrooms at LHCC with no more than 10 children per room for a smaller class experience.

Preschool is a time where your child will learn to become more and more independent in preparation for their transition to kindergarten.  We encourage the use of words to express our feelings. The preschool class has circle time in the morning for special sharing, days of the week, weather, theme of the week and to come together as a group before the day begins.

Our preschool program takes full advantage of our great location in the Linden Hills neighborhood of Southwest Minneapolis. We take walks around our beautiful neighborhood two blocks from Lake Harriet regularly and offer extracurricular activities throughout the year including tumbling, music, soccer and Spanish.
