Our Curriculum
The Linden Hills Child Care curriculums are based on the nationally recognized Creative Curriculum program.
The Creative Curriculum is based on the belief that children learn best by doing and that true learning requires active participation, critical thinking, and experimentation. It’s designed to balance student-initiated learning with teacher-directed learning by placing play as the foundation upon which academic learning is built.
This model guides our Infant, Toddler and Preschool classrooms.

Infants and Toddler Creative CurriculumThe most important goal of our Infant and Toddler curriculum is that children become enthusiastic learners.
In their early years, children explore the world around them by using all of their senses. In using real materials to explore their ideas, children learn about sizes, shapes, and colors, and they notice relationships between things. In time, they use one object to stand for another. This is the beginning of symbolic thinking. Gradually children become more and more able to use abstract symbols like words to describe their thoughts and feelings. There are five routines and eight experiences that are essential to the development and learning of children birth to three years. At Linden Hills Child Care, we incorporate these routines and experiences into our daily schedules and curriculum for Infants and Toddlers. We maintain a 1 teacher to 4 infant ratio with a class size no larger than 12 and a 1 teacher to 7 toddler ratio with a class size no larger than 14. |
